Auricular Magnetic Acupressure by Dr. Wan Huang Meet Dr. Wan Huang

Wan Huang, MD, PhD was formerly a licensed medical doctor in China and is currently a clinical researcher in the Department of Medical Physics and Rehabilitation at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She is a unique practitioner, with a combined background as a scientist, a integrate physiologist and a clinician.

Dr. Huang has been interested in Traditional Chinese Medicine since her medical school years. She was a physician for 8 years in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Jinan University Hospital, Guangzhou, China. She also earned her certification in acupuncture through training courses at Guangzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine College. In 1989, she went to study in Sweden and obtained her PhD degree in Physiology & Medical Physics from Uppsala University, Sweden. Since she moved to the US in 1996, she has been doing medical research in the fields of neuroscience, cardiovascular disease, endocrinology and immunology and published extensively in top scientific and biomedical journals.

Dr. Huang wants to use her clinical and research experience of almost every system and organ in the body to benefit patients. As she is always fascinated by the holistic philosophy in Traditional Chinese Medicine, she has practiced alternative medicine in her free time since 1997 with great joy and positive results in treating conditions ranging from fatigue, muscular disorder, and back/neck pain to diabetes. Recently, she has decided to join Pittsburgh Alternative Health, Inc. part-time and practice health alternatives primarily using auricular/body and magnetic acupressure techniques.
